12 Days of My FAN Club – Day 10

*** I’m talking about the FAN principle used by genealogists to list Friends, Associates, and Neighbors of your ancestors.  Your FAN club can be a great research technique that can help break down brick walls and help you learn more about your ancestors lives and their communities. This is one of my best friends, Dorian Walker Jordan. We met at freshman orientation at the University of Arkansas the summer before our freshman year. She is my kindred spirit. Our birthdays are seven days apart making us both Leos, so we are always on the same page. We instantly connected and became fast friends. People on campus always said if you saw one of us the other was somewhere close by because we were always together. She is my rational side always asking questions to ensure I know all the sides of things. Life and distance keeps us apart most of the time now, but I know she’s always a phone call away when I need her. When we do get together it’s like we were never apart. We met when I was 17 years old, and 28 years later our friendship has grown into a sisterhood of love, loyalty, laughter.
