With all of those kids, I’m sure she was tired. I know I would be.

  2. Hi Trish. Where are your Govan’s from? I was married to a Govan from Arkansas.

We live in Arkansas, but I believe before that was Mississippi and Alabama. But Mr. Govan lived in Arizona for some time in the 1940s then moved back to Arkansas.

      1. Hmmm I wonder if they were related. I’ll see what my ex knows. There’s quite a large number of them I’m told. Interesting and sad history. He’s contacted quite a few descendants’ families.

That would be something. They are from the central Arkansas/Little Rock area. Mr. Govan had a total of 12 children including my mother-in-law, from two different marriages. I’m not sure about his siblings though. I would have to ask my husband if he knows.

That would be really cool. In all my time researching, I have never met a new cousin.

      5. Oh well we need to compare notes and I’ll also get info from my ex. He said if you’re not blood kin it’s likely you’re from the same plantation. Your husband’s family that is. Lol.
