RootsTech Connect 2021 News

It’s hard to believe that RootsTech Connect 2021 is just a month away. Although this year will be different because the entire conference is virtual this year, and I will be attending it from the comfort of my home. RootsTech Connect 2021 will still have all the things we have come to love such as, hundreds break out sessions, celebrity keynote speakers, and a virtual expo hall. But this year you don’t have to be at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City to be able to purchase some RootsTech Swag. This year you can go online and purchase your RootsTech apparel, cups, bags, journals, and more right now. Just click HERE for the RootsTech online store.

Throughout the three-day online event, attendees will have the ability to interact with presenters, exhibitors, and other attendees through live chat and question and answer sessions.  So even though I will be at home, I will still get to interact with my genealogy buddies, presenters and vendors in the expo hall. RootsTech Connect 2021 will offer a combination of both livestream and on-demand content to accommodate differences in time zone for participants. In addition, sessions will be available to view on-demand after the event concludes.

Keynote speakers include Sharon Leslie Morgan, author and genealogist dedicated to promoting healing by providing resources for African American genealogical research, Lorena Ochoa of Mexico, a retired top female world golfer, and Francesco Lotoro of Italy, musician, composer and collector of music composed in captivity during the Holocaust.

Registration is required for this FREE event. Registration is still open, so click HERE to register and be a part of the world’s largest virtual genealogy conference. RootsTech Connect 2021 is February 25-27, 2021.

Have you posted all of the classes yet? I haven’t seen them. Do you have specific youth classes? I have two youth Ward T&FH Consultants (one experienced and one brand-new); do you have training for them? Will you again have training for adult Ward T&FH Consultants? Same for Ward T&FH Leaders? Steve

      Hi Steve
Classes/schedule will be available on the website in February. There aren’t any specific classes geared for youth, but classes range from beginner to advanced. So I’m sure there will be something that they will find of interest. There will also be a wide variety of topics from technology, genetic DNA, how to start researching, organization, and history as well plus so much more. There will be more information available in the next week. I will post more information as it comes out.

Thank you for the reply. Likely too late for this year, but I suggest that a class be offered for youth who are Consultants. How can they relate/teach adults as well as their peers? Perhaps the influence of an older youth (Priest/”Laurel”) on younger youth. Consider the impact of a youth Consultant on those 11-year-olds turning 12 in the next year. I have three youth Consultants; one experienced and two not-so-much. This could be a good training ground for them. FamilySearch offers training but none that is youth-specific.
