One of the things I love most about RootsTech is the opportunity to connect in person with other genealogists I’ve come to know through social media. There’s something special about finally meeting, having real conversations, and sharing space with people whose work has inspired you from a distance.

While attending the conference, I had the opportunity to sit down with genealogist and founder of Black Ancestries, Andre Kearns, for a podcast interview. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I don’t usually do interviews. I’m much more comfortable behind the scenes—researching, writing, and uncovering stories. But this conversation pushed me outside of that comfort zone in the best way.
Our discussion was insightful, engaging, and deeply rooted in the importance of understanding family history. It’s one of those conversations that stayed with me long after it ended, and one I’m truly proud to share. Happy listening!!!!
I really enjoyed this podcast episode…learned a lot and appreciate the tips. Didn’t realize you have a youtube channel and subscribed. Thank you for sharing the podcast with the rest of us. You are an inspiration to my research.
