NOTE: I accepted the 52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks challenge headed by fellow genealogy blogger Amy Johnson Crow. The idea behind this challenge is that you will receive email prompts, a word or phrase, every week, and you find something about your research or family history to write about. A big part of family history research is finding names and dates. But for me to choose my favorite name wasn’t that hard. There is one name that always brings a smile to my face when I look at my family tree. That name is Classie Moose, my 2X great grandmother. That really is my favorite name that I have discovered while researching my family history.
Classie Moose is also the person I know the least about in my family tree. I know that she was born in 1876 in Arkansas and died in 1939 in Arkansas. I know she was married to Rufus Goodlow. I’m sad to say that I haven’t discovered anything about her life. I imagine a woman with the name Classie, stood tall and had a quiet strength about her. The only way I will know for sure is to continue my research of her.
May you find the breadcrumbs that lead to Classie’s stories! Her true story deserves and needs to be told/written. Happy researching!
