October is Family History Month, a time to reflect on our heritage, connect with our ancestors, and share stories that shape our identities. Whether you’re a seasoned genealogist or just starting out, this month offers a perfect opportunity to dive into your rich family histories. There are so many different ways to celebrate Family History Month other than researching your family ancestry, click HERE to read get some ideas.

Although I feel that I celebrate family history every month, I do try to be more intentional about my research in October. Most of this year I have been creating the Mays Cummings Family Digitial Archive by scanning and digitizing family documents, photos, VHS tapes and such. I will continue that work I have been doing most of the year as well as naming and organizing the files on my computer and external hard drives. I will also be sharing photos that my family has picked out to feature in my Wordless Wednesday posts this month (click HERE to see one of my favorite Wordless Wednesday posts). How will you be celebrating Family History Month? Let me know if the comments what your plans are.
I didn’t know October was Family History Month! What to do what to do? I have a few Polish town databases I need to start checking on and I have about 10 random notebooks I wanted to organize.
I will work to step up my research and posting!
