12 Days of My Family 2021 – Phillip D. Cummings

My husband, Phillip D. Cummings, was born on February 25, 1976 to William and Phyllis Govan Cummings. He is the second of their four children. He graduated from J.A. Fair high school in Little Rock, Arkansas. He is also a graduate of the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, with a bachelor’s in Marketing. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He married his wife, Trisha Mays in 2000. They have one son and continue to live in the northwest Arkansas area.

Family isn’t always blood. Sometimes there are people in the world that want to be in your life and want you in theirs. Sometimes our family is defined by love. In my case my family will always be Phillip D. Cummings. He is my chosen family. Phillip is the extrovert in our family. He has a wonderful sense of humor and is always laughing, usually at someone (namely me). Phillip has been my biggest supporter and always strongly encouraging me to take my research to the next level. It was Phillip’s idea for me to start my blog. Phillip is the one that encouraged me to start a podcast, and he joined me when I was too nervous to record by myself. Phillip has been with me from the very beginning of this journey behind the scenes. He’s my sounding board, my tech guy, my podcast co-host, and now my research partner because he’s a family historian in his own right. Phillip’s story is a part of my story, and I will make sure that his story is remembered and told just as I will with any other member of my family.
