Finding Your Roots is one of my favorite genealogy TV shows.  I think this was the first TV show that I ever watched that was dedicated to genealogy.  The host, Dr. Henry Louis Gates Jr, uses a ‘book of life’ that contains photos and documents to help explain their family history. The guests of this show are famous actors, athletes, politicians, and musicians.  The show also shows some of the research techniques and places that the genealogists used while researching.

Season 5 of Finding your Roots premiers on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 on PBS at 7pm CST.  Guest of this season include Lisa Ling, Michael Strahan, Joe Madison, and Paul Ryan.
