I didn’t have any sessions planned for this morning. So I slept in and arrived at the Salt Palace around 930am. I hung out in the expo hall this morning, walking around and talking with vendors. I also ate early today to miss the long lines. My first session wasn’t until 130 today, so I wasn’t rushed at all. Today I was able to go at a slow pace and take everything in kind of day.

This year I wanted to get more pictures of the expo hall, the vendors, and the crowds. I talk about just how big the Salt Palace is and how many people attend RootsTech all the time, but I don’t think I have ever shown it in photos before.

The last day of RootsTech is a short day. The expo closed at 3pm, and my last session was over at 4pm. Some of my genealogy cousins were also in the last session I attended. So, I was able to say my goodbyes before heading to the coat check on last time. It always seems like RootsTech sneaks up on me, but the days I spend in the Salt Palace go by so fast. I couldn’t believe it was already the end of the conference.
I wanted to make the most of my last day at the Family Search Library, so that was my next stop. Everyone else had the same idea because it was packed, but I was able to find a computer on a different floor than I usually go to. We didn’t close the library down on Saturday, but we stayed until just after 7pm. I was able to make some good progress on my research. We packed up and headed out to get some dinner. We got back to the hotel around 9pm. Our flight out on Sunday was mid-day, so we didn’t have to rush around and was able to sit down for breakfast before left for the airport. I think that’s a first for us.

RootsTech 2026 was everything I expected it to be and more. I don’t know how they do it, but the conference really does get better and better every year. Like always just as we are leaving, we start preparing for next year. So, if RootsTech is on your genealogy list of things to do save the date because RootsTech 2027 will be held on March 4-6 in Salt Lake City, Utah at the Salt Palace Convention Center. Hopefully we will see you there!!!
