RootsTech 2026 Expo Hall

One of my favorite parts of attending RootsTech is time spent in the Expo Hall. If classes are where you learn, the Expo Hall is where you discover. The Expo Hall brings together genealogy companies, archives, societies, publishers, DNA testing companies, and innovators all in one place. It’s a space filled with conversation, curiosity, and the excitement of new tools that can help move your family history research forward.

Whether you’re a beginner just starting your genealogy journey or a seasoned researcher, the Expo Hall offers something for everyone. You can explore new databases, ask questions directly to experts, learn about technology designed to organize and preserve your research.

RootsTech 2026 will take place March 5–7, 2026, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and online for free, registration is required. Some of the companies and organizations you can expect to see in the Expo Hall this year include Ancestry, My Heritage, Family Tree Magazine, Genealogy Bank, National Genealogy Society, Roots Magic, and Afro American Historical and Genealogy Society just to name a few.

The Expo Hall reminds us that family history is not a solitary pursuit. It’s a community effort, built on shared knowledge, storytelling, and a collective commitment to preserving our ancestors’ legacies. If you attend RootsTech, whether in person or virtually, make time for the Expo Hall. Take your time, ask questions, and explore. You never know which conversation or discovery might become the next breakthrough in your family history research.
