12 Days of My Family History Discoveries – Day 3

I’ve always felt deeply connected to my family through cherished photos and memories. My official research journey didn’t begin until 2011. In these past 14 years, I have made some wonderful discoveries that I will be sharing to celebrate the holiday season

One of the people I wanted to learn about the most when I started this research journey was my paternal grandfather, Booker Mays. He is the only one of my grandparents that died before I was born and that wasn’t born in Arkansas. I don’t ever remember seeing a picture of him when I was growing up, or anyone sharing stories about him. I always thought of him as a mystery man.

My family history research has allowed me to get to know Grandpa Booker in a way that I never thought was possible. I still have so much to learn about him, but he is no longer my mystery man.
