The Afro American Historical and Genealogical Society has announced that the 45th National Conference is now open for registration. This year’s conference will be virtual on October 10-12, 2024. The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Fighting Erasure: Staying Visible by keeping African AMerican Genealogy and History in Focus’. There will be sessions on DNA, research methodologies, how to research online, how to research during slavery for both the enslaved person and the slave owner, and how to tell your genealogy story just to name a few. Some of genealogy’s best and brightest will be presenters including, Shelley Murphy, Bernice Alexander Bennett, Orice Jenkins, Melvin Collier, and Janice Gilyard. There also will be a virtual expo hall that is included with registration that will provide the opportunity to purchase items, ask product questions from vendors/sponsors and talk with book authors.
