I will be traveling this year on and around Juneteenth. So, I had been trying to figure out how I’m going to celebrate Juneteenth away from home. Then I saw the announcement from RootsTech that they are celebrating Juneteenth with free online classes focused on African American genealogy that will be taught by nationally known research experts at RootsTech.org/events. Six new classes will be live and interactive online June 19, or Juneteenth, and hosted by Thom Reed of FamilySearch.
Thanks to RootsTech I will be celebrating Juneteenth in a different way this year. I will be able to learn some new skills and techniques to advance my research. I’m so excited about these new classes being presented by some of the nation’s leading genealogists in the field of African American genealogy including Janice Gilyard, Ric Murphy, and Taneya Koonce. Registration is required at rootstech.org
